Waveney Valley Ecumenical Partnership

The Churches

The buildings you see in these photos are worship centres of the Waveney Valley Ecumenical Partnership, a group of 9 Christian churches (and one currently unused building) set near the River Waveney between Harleston and Bungay. (Denton is also part of the Earsham Church of England benefice).

Six of the churches are in Norfolk, three are in Suffolk, and travelling between them you find yourself crossing the border (the river) time and again.

In November 2007 these churches made a Declaration of Intent to work together and to become a Local Ecumenical Partnership, for the better working-out of Jesus Christ’s gospel in this lovely and historic part of East Anglia.

At the end of 2010, after full consultation and detail amendments, a new Constitution was agreed by our Partnership churches. This document is now the basis for our shared life together, and only awaits formal recognition by our parent Church and inter-Church authorities.
